Patricia Lee Burnett

Patricia Lee Burnett of Independence, MO passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, September 9, 2012 after a valiant battle with cancer. Her family was blessed to be by her side. Interment will be held at noon on Thursday, September 13th at The Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. Visitation Thursday evening from 6-8pm at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 39th St in Independence, MO. Pat devoted her life to loving her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her family, and wonderful friends. Pat was a unique individual that truly loved the simple things in life; her Bible studies, decorating her home, family dinners and good conversation. She always loved to laugh and had a great sense of humor. She loved her country and always respected and appreciated our soldiers for their selfless sacrifice. She was a loving, compassionate, humble, and kind woman who made everyone feel special. Pat is survived by her children, Mike & Sally Burnett of Odessa, MO, Janet & John House of Blue Springs, MO, Scott & Amy Burnett of Independence, MO and Jim & Kristen Burnett of Evansville, IN. She is also survived by her beautiful grandchildren, Drew & Allie, Mike, Sam, Rachel, Patty, Cameron, Kyle, Tyler and Hanna, as well as her loyal dog Buddy. She is preceded in death by her husband Jerry, her Mother & Father, and her brothers. The family would especially like to thank Crossroads Hospice for their loving and devoted care and McGilley & Sheil Funeral Home.
