As a young girl, Patricia loved riding her horse, Rex, a gift from her father. She was an avid fan of Elvis and the Beatles and liked dancing. She married her high school sweetheart, Glenn Curtis, in 1961 a few months after graduating from Northeast High School in Kansas City. She had her first son, Curt in 1965 and second son, Chris in 1968. Patricia supported both of her sons’ baseball and football games and Chris’ BMX racing and wrestling matches. In the 80’s, she started a women’s motorcycle club called the Vixens with her friends Lucinda Youell and Rita Irene Taylor. She especially liked going with her sister Virginia to Historical Society Open Houses in the Greater Kansas City area and attending cocktail social events and shows.
After retiring in 2000 from a dental assistant career, she devoted her time to her grandchildren Zachery, born in 1993, and Lily, born in 2004. She celebrated their baptisms, first communions, birthdays and graduations and attended all of their sports and dance competitions. Patricia loved her dogs and many cats. She lived in her home in Kansas City until 2019, when she moved to St. Mary’s Village Assisted Living in Blue Springs, MO after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.
She was a caring, devoted, and loving mother who was there whenever anyone needed help or just needed someone to talk to. Patricia was a blessing to her family and will be truly missed.
