In 1962, Pat and his family moved from Villa Park, IL, to Kansas City, where he would spend the rest of his life. He attended Hogan High School where he excelled in Basketball, Football and Golf. His passion for sports would continue throughout his life, as a lifelong Royals fan, a high school and college referee, coaching his sons in baseball and basketball, playing golf with his buddies, “The Doctors”, and for 28 years, as the Skipper of his beloved softball team, “The Snappers”, playing with his brothers, sons, and closest friends.
Paddy spent his career in the automotive industry, working for Warn Industries as their top salesman and National Accounts Manager for over 20 years. As a natural born salesman, he was famous for his one-liners and his jovial stories, often with a bit of exaggeration. He always said, “Never let the facts get in the way of a good story.”
Paddy was a very loving and passionate man with a generous heart. He always spoke kindly of all who knew him. He embraced his Irish Catholic heritage, and loved going to O’Neill’s Restaurant with his family, where he was known to all as “The Mayor”. He was a great father, brother, and friend. “We’ll miss ye, Paddy.”
Paddy was preceded in death by his Mother, Father, brother, Jack Meagher and his brother-in-law, Fred Bukaty. He is survived by his sons, Patrick and Conor (Jen) Meagher and their mother, Kathy Whited, daughter, Caitlin (Kevin) Warnecke and her mother Patsy Walsh; granddaughter, Gina Meagher; sisters, Dottie (Jerry) McEvoy, Rita Bukaty, Mary Jo Will and Margaret Tagg; brothers, Joe Meagher and Mike (Sheila) Meagher; nieces and nephews, Colleen (Brian) Schorgl, Margaret McEvoy, Tom and John (Mandy) Bukaty, Julie (Matt) Muehlebach, Tim (Meredith), Mike (Tammy), and Andy (Annie) Will, Michelle, Sean, and Kim Tagg, Erinn Meagher, Katie (Ryan) McKenzie, Joe, Brian (Lucia), and Kyle Meagher, Teresa (Jason) Lingreen; grand nieces and nephews: Kaitlin and Francie Schorgl, Megan and Caroline Muehlebach, Vance and Vera Bukaty, Henry, Roslyn, Celi, Ronan, Rosalie and Eagan Will, Brian, Sophia and Jada Tagg, Luke, Krisalyn and Ignacio Meagher.
