

Paul was born in Kansas City to Sam & Naomi Whiteman. He was raised in Sugar Creek, MO. Paul graduated from Northeast High School and enlisted in the Army Air Force upon graduation where he served 4 years. Paul was married in 1952 to Carolyn Joy Simmons for 29 years until her death in 1981. To that union two daughters were born. In 1982 he was reunited with Geraldine Hobson Smoot, a childhood neighbor which resulted in a 32 year marriage and a blended family of 6 daughters. Coming from a steel mill family, Paul started at Armco (Sheffield) Steel as a Journeyman welder and then became a foreman up until his retirement in 1982. While working at Armco, Paul enjoyed participating as a member of the Armco Theater Guild. He was an active Ararat Shriner, and member of Mt. Washington Lodge #614 AF & AM. He loved hunting, camping and occasionally a pull on his favorite slot machine.
Paul is survived by 6 daughters: Paula Whiteman Keil, Pam Whiteman Kemper (Darl), Sheryl McClure (James), Linda Giles (Denny), Dana Testa (Steve), Janice Blanton, brother Tom Whiteman (Lois) & sister Barbara Mountjoy, 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren with an additional baby girl on the way, numerous nieces & nephews rounded out this loving family. Paul was also blessed with countless friends and acquaintances that he knew throughout his life.
