She was born July 26, 1937, in Webber's Falls, Oklahoma to the late Arie Lipe and Elsie (Hinkle) Lipe. Paulene married Jess Mayo, Jr. on September 30, 1954 in Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on November 14, 2021.
She worked in the cafeteria in the Independence School District and after retirement was a volunteer at Center Point Hospital for over a decade.
Paulene will be greatly missed by her family and all that knew her. Paulene was preceded in death by her parents; 5 brothers, 2 sisters and son-in-law (Tom McKarnin).
Paulene is survived by daughter, Kathy McKarnin of Kansas City, MO, sons Ken and Kipp Mayo of Kansas City, MO, granddaughter, Kelli (James) Lawson of Daphne, AL, grandson Jeff (Melissa) Carroll of Fairfax, VA, 5 great-grandchildren; Jen Peterson, Madi Puhl, Landon Lawson, and Thomas and Alexander Carroll, 2 sisters, 1 brother and many nieces and nephews.
