Visitation and rosary will be held June 4, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Kansas City, MO, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00. Interment will be at Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall, MO.
Peggy was born on June 19, 1919 in Marshall to Ambrose Hayob and Margaret (McDonough) Hayob. She married George Davidson on November 3, 1951; together they had five children and made their home in Moberly, MO before moving to Kansas City in 1968.
Peggy centered her life around her family, her church, and her friends. She was a faith-filled Catholic and active member of St. Matthew Apostle Parish until its closure, a long-time volunteer at Carondelet Manor and her children’s Catholic schools, and a somewhat enthusiastic bridge player. She lived her life devoted to the service of others and with an endearing sense of humor; she cherished (and excelled at!) her role as mother, whether with her children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren. Mostly, though, Peggy was a gentle, caring, compassionate woman who touched the lives of everyone she met; she loved greatly and was greatly loved in return. We are so lucky to have had her strength, her example, and her generous heart for so long.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, George E. Davidson, her daughter Mary Diane, her great-grandson Logan Baker, and her brothers J. Leo and Ray Hayob. Survivors include four children: sons Joe (Mary) and Dan (Peggy), and daughters Becky (Brent) Akright and Libby (Scott) Knox. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Tracie (Kevin), Tim (Stephanie), Andy (Katie), Mark (Molly), Danny (Allison), Kevin (Jane), Rachel (Tucker), Charlie, and Maggie; and 12 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Logan Baker Foundation or the charity of your choice.
