Phyllis M. Smith

Phyllis M. Smith, 78, of Lee's Summit, MO, passed away Friday, November 26, 2010. The funeral mass will be 10 a.m., Friday, December 3, 2010, at St. Regis Catholic Church, 8945 James A. Reed Rd. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8 p.m., with the rosary being recited at 5 p.m. at the church. Phyllis was born on September 1, 1932 in Ottumwa, IA. She was employed at Little Sisters of the Poor prior to her retirement. Phyllis was a volunteer and avid supporter of the arts. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert T. Smith and a son, Ronald Smith. She is survived by two daughters, Cecilia Julo (Pat) and Janice Cobian (Tom); one brother, Paul Carr (Glenda); one sister, Linda Ward, of the home; seven grandchildren: Shannon, Tracie, Nicholas (Kristie), Jerett (Kathe), Rachel (Connor), Jordan (Kristina), and Lucas (Kaitlyn); five great grandchildren: Jake, Angel, Isabelle, Easton, and Baby J. Traci, Todd (Megan), Courtnie and Aiden; as well as many other loving nieces and nephews. Phyllis was a kind and compassionate person who enriched the lives of all she met. Memorial contributions may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor.
