

Ralph Eugene Cooper, 93 of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on June 21, 2015. Visitation will be 10:00 am Thursday, July 2 followed by service at 11:00am at Mount Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Grace Point Baptist Church, 10415 Chestnut Drive, Kansas City, Missouri, 64137.
Ralph was born on October 25, 1921 in Yardell, Arkansas where he spent most of his childhood. Later, his family moved to Kansas City where he called home for over 75 years. Ralph was the oldest of five children.
Ralph served our country in the Navy in both WWII and the Korean Wars where he learned to be an Electrician. Ralph enjoyed sharing his Naval experiences and had the most memories on the U.S.S Gunnison.
In 1947, Ralph married the love of his life, Millie whom he believed God had sent to him. They had one son, Jim who sadly was taken far too early in March of this year.
Ralph was an electrician by trade and was a member of the International Brotherhood Electrical Workers (IBEW) local 124 for 65 years. He enjoyed doing electrical projects for his family, church and friends.
He was an avid bowler and bowled in many leagues through his 90th birthday. He especially loved taking his grandchildren and great grandchildren bowling.
He also enjoyed fishing, playing cards, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Ralph was a devoted Christian and long time member of Grace Point Baptist Church where he volunteered many hours a week helping out where ever he was needed. He was especially known for his Saturday morning coffee making. He was a retired Deacon and truly had a love for his Lord.
Ralph was preceded in death by his son, Jim his parents Eva and Tom, sister Joyce, brothers Ed and Robert. Ralph leaves behind his wife Millie, the true love of his life, of 68 years; daughter-in-law Cindy; brother Tom; three grandchildren: Brian, Brent (Marty), and Cindy (Troy); eight great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and their families and friends.
Ralph’s love and devotion to Millie was an inspiration to all who knew them. He lived a wonderful long life filled with faith, family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
