Raymond “Whitey” Gardner, 86, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away February 22, 2012. He was born December 18, 1925 to Lewis and Edna Gardner. Serving in WWII, the Army veteran received 9 medals including the Bronze Star. Raymond was a stone mason and concrete flatwork contractor. He loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing, trapping and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years Kitty (Rouse) Gardner, children Kathie (Bill) Miller, Fred (Terri) Gardner, Dan (Nancy) Gardner, 9 grandchildren, including his medical care giver Shelly Vaughn, 12 great grandchildren and his sister Jean Milam. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and 2 children, Julie and Sky.
Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. with services following at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 25 at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64145.
