

Richard Lyle Bramen of Kansas City MO passed away February 18th, 2026. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, patriotism, and a loving family.
Born March 30th, 1938, in Chicago Illinois. He was the son of David Bramen and Gertrude (Blahna) Bramen. He was the youngest of three, having two older sisters.
Richard loved the Navy eventually joining on December 17th, 1956. Richard was very proud of his background in the military, eventually climbing the ranks to E-6. He carried that patriotic spirt with him everywhere he went eventually starting his own business “America’s Favorite Flags”. He even supplied the flags to McGilley State Line Chapel. While the flag business was Richard’s pride and joy, he started with “America’s Favorite Fundraising”. This company would go on to sell fundraising products to schools nationwide. Richard also liked to garden. He could grow about any vegetable. His biggest hardship was making sure the wildlife didn’t eat them all. He also loved spending time with his dogs, winning first place with his own Golden Retriever, Tucker. Richard loved to workout and staying active was very important to him, keeping a gym membership up until his death.
Richard married Sue (Thompson) Bramen in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1985, sparking a 41 year long adventure.
While Richard never had any biological children, he has raised his stepson Bret Pidcock as his own since he was 10.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents David and Gertrude (Blahna) Bramen; sister LaVonne Mishler; Aunt Delia Grayson Uncle Frank Grayson, Aunt Bernadtha Monroe.
Richard is survived by his wife Sue Ellen Bramen, stepson Bret Pidcock, grandson Jacob Davis Pidcock, and granddaughter Samantha Grace Pidcock.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday February 26, 2026, at 12 PM. A reception is to follow the funeral service at 1 PM. Services will be held at McGilley State Line Chapel 12301 State Line Rd., Kansas City Missouri, 64145.
