Richard J. Drummond, 81, Overland Park, Kansas passed away June 27, 2011. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 1, at 3:00 p.m. to be followed by a Memorial Services at 4:00 p.m. at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home 10507 Holmes Road. Kansas City, Missouri 64133. Donations may be made to the Heart Institute of St. Luke’s Hospital. Richard was born November 2, 1929 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was a graduate of Hogan High School, and Benedictine College, member of the US Navy during the Korean War, respected member of Alcoholics Anonymous (NE Johnson County Group), an avid golfer. He also loved singing with the big bands in Chicago and Kansas City. Richard was preceded in death by his wife Margaret “Maggie” Drummond, sons; Richard James Drummond Jr. and Timothy O’Brien Drummond, daughter-in-law Joanne Drummond and granddaughter Crystal Drummond. Richard is survived by his wife, Patricia Sandidge Drummond, David (Corinne) Drummond of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Peggy (Sam) Balistreri of Independence, Missouri, Thomas Drummond of Kansas City, Missouri, John “Buck” Drummond of Overland Park, Kansas, Patricia “Kelly” Drummond of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Jeffrey Jay (Denise) Drummond of Kansas City, Missouri, Mary Ann (John) Kaltenbach of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Paul “Mick” (Kelly) Drummond of Kansas City, Missouri, brother Robert Drummond of Leawood, Kansas and sister Marilyn Aylward of Kansas City, Missouri.
