Visitation is Tuesday, Nov. 27 from 6:00 – 7:00 PM at McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 NE Vivion Road, Kansas City, MO, with Memorial Service following at 7:00 and concluding with Military Honors. After cremation, Richard will rest in the arms of his loving family.
Richard was born March 18, 1924 in Lake City, MO to David and Effie (Stout) Dyer. He joined the United States Navy, serving 16 months in Guam and 16 months in Guadalcanal during World War II. After the military, he returned to the Warsaw, MO and married Joyce Ann Bristow. He found work in the lumber business in Kansas City shortly thereafter, where he excelled for 40 years. He was a long-time member of the Lumberman’s Association. He loved to fish and spend time outdoors. He was a member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Joyce; sons Ronald D. Dyer and Richard D. Dyer; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
