Richard "Rick" L. Meier

Richard “Rick” Lapham Meier, 63, Liberty, MO, passed May 8, 2017. Memorial services are 5:00 PM Friday, May 12th at the McGilley Antioch Chapel where a visitation is from 3-5 PM. Immediately following Rick’s service a reception with refreshments will be held at the Avondale United Methodist Church, 3101 NE Winn Road, Kansas City, MO 64117; entrance and parking at backside of the church. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to K.C. Pet Project, American Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or a charity of choice.

Rick was born June 18, 1953 to Richard and Elizabeth (Jones) Meier in Kansas City, MO. He attended Davidson Elementary, Oak Park High School and the DeVry Institute. He retired from Airsys ATM in 2013.

Rick’s passions included shooting sports, fishing, and the family home in the Ozarks. His wife and children were always his #1 priority. He enjoyed taking care of the family pets, including 3 dogs. Rick was patient and welcoming to everyone. He was a storyteller. Rick enjoyed television, especially classic westerns and old movies. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Susan Turner.

Survivors include wife, Jill Meier; 3 children, Matthew, Eric and Allison; sister, Diana Wescott, and brother, Patrick Meier; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
