Richard Dale Sewell

Richard Dale Sewell (Dick), 77, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2013. The memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Mount Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131. Visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 p.m.. Dick was born in Calexico, California on August 30, 1936. He graduated from Northeast High School in Kansas City in 1954 and continued on to receive an accounting degree from UMKC in 1959. Dick worked as a Certified Public Accountant for Baird, Kurtz, & Dobson until 1987. During his tenure at BK&D he was the youngest at that time to ever make partner. He then created his own consulting firm called Sewell & Company and also worked as a court mediator. He enjoyed sports, loved playing golf and was a little league coach for many years. Dick is preceded in death by his parents Ruth Hudson Sewell and James Sewell, daughter Jill Ann Sewell, and son Richard Dale Sewell, Jr. Dick is survived by his wife Brenda Sewell, two daughters Denise Skahan and Julie Bredemeier (Daryl), daughter-in-law Cindy Sewell Dunlop, stepson Aaron Ray (Deirdre), grandchildren Shelby and Darby Sewell, Eric, Jamie Rae and Ryan Skahan, Brett, Kristen and Kyle Bredemeier, Alana and Alivia Ray, and one great granddaughter Emma Lou Skahan. The family of Richard Dale Sewell wishes to thank Joy Biggs for her personal help and care as well as the St. Luke's Hospice House for the comfort they provided.
