

Richard Clyde Tucker, 81 of Kansas City, Missouri passed away peacefully on March 27, 2011 at Kansas City Hospice House. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, April 1 at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Richard Tucker was born on September 29, 1929 in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated from Westport High School in 1947. Richard served four years in the U.S. Navy, as an air traffic controller, in San Diego, California. He graduated from the University of Missouri School of Mines & Metallurgy, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mining Engineering, in May of 1957. Richard worked for Loffland Brothers Company, a major international drilling contractor, based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He worked on projects in the U.S., Australia, Argentina, Columbia, Venezuela, Nigeria, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates. Richard retired in 1989. Richard is survived by his sister, Patricia Ann Morgridge of San Luis Obisbo, California; five nephews Cecil Chappelow III, William Chappelow, Jeffrey Chappelow, Dan Morgridge, and Keith Morgridge; and four nieces Kimberly Chappelow-Lee, Cathleen Chappelow, Linda Morgridge, and Keven Morgridge. He was preceded in death by his mother, Maud L. Tucker, his father, Clyde C. Tucker, and his sister, Gwendolyn M. Chappelow. Richard loved his family and enjoyed traveling.
