

Rita (Flores) Rojas departed from this earth during the afternoon of New Year's Eve on December 31, 2025 in the Kansas City area. She loved to be around others and hosted many gatherings during holidays like New Year’s Eve. Rita was born on April 11,1931 in Kansas City, Kansas to Jose and Francisca Flores. She grew up in the Argentine area of Kansas City, Kansas and graduated from Argentine High School.
She always had a wonderful dimpled smile and a youthful appearance throughout her years. She married Peter Rojas and together they raised 3 children, Vicky, Ricky and Nicky, in the Westside of Kansas City, Missouri. She spent many years as an educator and positively impacted the lives of many children in her community. She loved to celebrate important Hispanic holidays with her students such as Cinco de Mayo. She passed down her hispanic heritage and language to her family as well. Rita was a partner to Sylvester Bustamante in her later years and together they always welcomed their families to visit. She attended Holy Name Church in Kansas City, Kansas and maintained a strong faith that was inspiring to her family. She will be missed dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Francisca; brothers, Jose Jr., Melcher, Albert, Jack, Leo, Alexander and Alfonso; and sisters, Pabla and Aurora (Lola).
She is survived by her daughter, Victoria; sons, Nicholas and Richard “Mario” and his wife, Becky; grandchildren, Nicole Rojas, Natalie Rojas, Christopher Wilson and Kyle Wilson; and many more great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild as well. She also spent a lot of her time with her Flores family and made a strong impact on her nieces and nephews. Rita was greatly loved by her family and will be in our hearts forever.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at McGilley Antioch Chapel, located 3325 Northeast Vivion Road, Kansas City, MO 64119. Rosary service will take place at McGilleys at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at Holy Name of Jesus Parish, 1001 Southwest Blvd, Kansas City, KS 66103. Interment will follow the funeral in Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 1150 Northwest 38th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66102.
