Robert Boyd Beaham died on January 26, 2021 at his home in Westwood, Kansas. He was 58 years old. Bob was a proud, fifth-generation owner-operator of the Faultless Starch/Bon Ami Company for most of his career. He oversaw the growth of the Trapp Private Gardens in the 1990s and early 2000s. More recently, he was a director of the Company until its sale last year.
Bob served as member and often officer of many organizations, including the Kansas City Country Club, the rotary Club 13, the Grocery Manufacturers of America, Midwest Research Institute, and the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Kansas City. Bob was a proud fan of Kansas City sports. He loved going to Chiefs and Royals games.
Bob was a graduate of Pembroke Country Day School and maintained connections to the school through the education of his daughter. Bob went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Economics, and later an MBA from Southern Methodist University. He was a member and officer of the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. Friendships formed at both schools meant the world to him. Those bonds carried him, and all of his friends, through good times and challenging times, both.
In 2002, Bob married Molly Sue Wise, and the two of them were blessed with their daughter Lily Belle Beaham in 2006. Although Bob and Molly divorced, they remained proud of their daughter, and supported each other’s influence in her life.
Being a father to Lily ushered in Bob’s favorite time of life. He loved watching Lily grow, and was at as many of her swim meets and school events as possible. He was an avid photographer, often choosing Lily and other family members as his subjects. He had a good eye, and delighted others with his candid photos.
Bob was a funny, curious, and surprisingly sentimental man. His feelings of love and pride for his family, his friends, and his hometown guided his life. Those who loved him remember his quirky sense of humor and his devotion to his family.
Bob is survived by his beloved daughter Lily, his co-parent Molly, his sisters Cathy Smith and Carolyn West, and his nieces and nephews, Taylor Doering, Parker Beaham, Gracie Beaham, and Robert West. In the blessed hereafter he joins his parents Nancy and Gordon Beaham, and his brother David Beaham.
A private memorial service will be held at St. Andrews Episcopal Church on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at 4:00 pm. Due to restrictions in the current pandemic, attendance will be limited. But friends and family may attend the live stream at https://standrewkc.org/live-worship/. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Pembroke Hill School, St. Andrews Episcopal Church, or the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City.
