Sally, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. You have made things of great importance in my life, possible. I feel bad that I cant think of anything to do for you to give you the kind of changes you have given me. Please feel free to call anytime. My son owes you a great debt, because if it wasnt for you, he would not have the education he does now. If you ever need anyone to yell at, cry at, visit with, I am always here.

Bob Firestone was a long time dedicated volunteer of the Whole Person from 1989 through 1997 and this how I got to know him.  He was a man of grace and love and he gave freely his services without any reservation to all people of disabilities.  He will be missed by all of us at the Whole Person, but I know he is in a better place.  May his spirit rest in peace with God, His Father?

I knew Bob from his work with the south KCMO Wheels on Meals program in mid 1990 to mid 2000. Bob & I had weekly contact and I quickly learned what a wonderful person he was... kind, thoughtful, soft-spoken, dependable... Gentle men like Bob make this world a better place and his absence definitely leaves a "gentleness" gap.

Oh dear Sally,
My heart is so very heavy and my soul hurts.  My step-son Bob is gone from our world.  He was such a dear man and fine step-son who really, really liked/loved me, which does not always happen in second marriages.  I've cried for my loss and your loss Sally.  Perhaps in Heaven above God has a place for Bob as Guardian of the Owls.  I wish I could hug Bob once more.  I feel lonely today but am cheered by the many great memories about Robert.  My prayer is that  Christ will bring you peace today and in the future.

Our Dear Sally, My Step-Sister,

Kathy and I are so very saddened by the sudden loss of Bob.  Bob was a wonderful Step-Brother and I always enjoyed being around Bob and discussing this and that or just sharing some "stuff" from our childhood, when your parents owned the home on the side of the hill above my parents home.  We had fun as kids and fun as adults.  In recent years the miles have kept us from being together but Bob has always been close to my heart.  Kathy and I will strongly miss your brother Bob, who was a gentlemen, was kind and served our LORD, with whom he is with today. I am grateful for the life of Mr. Firestone.  Thanks to his service and to the service of others in our armed forces, my family and I have been able to lead our lives in freedom and peace.

The first time I met Bob, I was traveling with Sally and her parents to New York and the World's Fair. We picked up Bob from his ship. I always enjoyed his sense of humor and he loved to tease Sally and I. He was such a warm, funny person.  Great memories.  So sorry to hear the news. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
