

Robert E. “Bob” Craig, 84, of Bonner Springs, KS (formerly of Kansas City, MO) passed away Sunday, January 31, 2016 surrounded by many loving family members. Visitation from 10-11am on Thurs., Feb. 4th with rosary recited at 11am at the McGilley & Sheil Chapel. Burial following rosary in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Bob was born July 29, 1931 in Kansas City, KS to Elder & Jessie Craig. He left home at age 16 and joined the US Marine Corp. At age 18 he was serving in Korea at the Frozen Chosin Reservoir where 10,000 Marines were attacked by 125,000 Chinese soldiers. Temperatures were 50 to 60 degrees below zero. Bob had severe frost bite & was wounded. He received a Purple Heart & was so proud to be a Marine. Bob was never seen without wearing his Marine cap.
Bob worked for 40 years at Certainteed Products as a Supervisor. He loved fishing, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles & George Jones. Most of all he loved spending time with his wife. He was a member for many years at St. Anthony’s Church in Kansas City, MO.
Bob was preceded in death by his first wife, Irma Craig. He is survived by his wife, Karen of the home; his brothers, George (Vicki) & Francis; his stepsons, William Hallier (Marsha), Gary Hallier (Rosemary) & Michael Reynolds (Patty); his stepdaughter, Robin Slattery (Brian); his grandchildren, Scott Hallier (Lisa), Craig Hallier (Shelley), Sophia Reynolds, Porter & Quinlan Slattery; 9 great grandchildren and many loving friends.
