Robert A. Gonzales Sr.

Robert Anthony Gonzales, Sr. of Kansas City, MO passed away Friday, November 18, 2016 at St. Joseph Medical Center. A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, November 22nd from 6- 7pm with Rosary recited at 7pm at the McGilley & Sheil Chapel, 11924 E. 47th St, Kansas City, MO, 64133.

Robert was born December 5, 1948 in Kansas City, MO to Jesse and Virginia (Audelo) Gonzales, Sr. He graduated from Lillis High School in 1966 and retired from Lee Apparel after 25 plus years of service. Robert had a long battle with renal disease, but he always had a smile for everyone and never complained about his illness. The family would like to thank the many doctors and their staff at Kindred Hospital, St. Joseph Medical Center and especially the treatment he received at DCI Carondelet for all their help and compassion during this long battle. A “special thank you” to his loving wife, Janice, for all of the care and attention that was given by her.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and his twin brother, Richard Gonzales. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Janice of the home; two sons, Bob Gonzales, Jr. (Matasha) and Michael Gonzales (Stacey); one brother, Jesse J. Gonzales, Jr.(Rosemary); one sister, Christina Tobin (Tom); granddaughter, Taya Corum; two grandsons, Joseph and Alexander Gonzales and Robert’s “special companion” Diz.
