Robert Francis McShane

Robert (Bob) Francis McShane passed away peacefully on March 5, 2025 surrounded by his family. Bob was born in St. Louis, Missouri on May 13, 1947 to Dr. Quentin and Virginia Guyol McShane. He was the fourth of six children. He attended Christ the King Grade School, St. Louis University High School, and Rockhurst University.

After school he married the love of his life, Mary (Dodie) McShane and moved permanently to Kansas City. He worked for the family coffee company Ronnoco but found his long-term career with Abbott Laboratories selling pharmaceuticals.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law Colin Havard. He is survived by his wife, Dodie, his children Kevin McShane (Merritt), Annie Houlehan (John), Lucy Davis (Tanner), and Franny Crawford (Brian). He is also survived by his brothers and sisters: Mary Ellen Havard, Catherine Garnier (Ron), John McShane (Molly), Joe McShane (Kathy), and Rita Dorsch (Glen) as well as many nieces and nephews. His laughter and good looks carry on in his grandchildren Libby, Jack, Teddy, Emily, Josephine, Alex, Bobby, Will and Ginny.

There will be a short visitation at Curé of Ars Catholic Church for those that cannot attend Mass beginning at 2:15pm on March 13th, 2025. Mass will begin at 3pm with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers kindly donate to your favorite charity in Bob’s name.
