After a rewarding 91 years of life, including 69 years of marriage to his sweetheart Elda (Wagner) Morcha, Bob is survived in death by his wife Elda and two children, Robert T. Morcha (Joanne Bagby Morcha), and Sandy Jo Morcha Sedler (Mike Sedler). Additionally, Bob leaves seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Bob was born Oct. 9, 1930, in Kansas City, MO, to Henry Clark and Vivian Francis (Burton) Morcha. Bob graduated from Southeast High School (1948), after which he honorably served in the U.S. Navy during The Korean War for five years and assigned to one of the first aircraft carriers (original USS Saipan, lead ship in her class). Following his proud military service, Bob had a long career as a machinist working on special programs at Allied Signal (Bendix) in Kansas City, MO.
Most of all Bob enjoyed family, good food and any reason to have a cold one on the weekend with family and friends. His favorite pastime was fishing, and especially proud of the monster fish he would catch in Minnesota during annual family vacations – not to mention the years’ worth of bragging rights for the typical “big fish” story.
Bob was known by many names, including Bob, Dad, Pop, Grandpa, Pawpaw, and Frenchi. Bob will always be remembered for his generous smile, good nature and storytelling. When around the family he would truly brighten up, smile big, and just enjoy the wonderful feeling from unconditional love. Bob will be missed, but never forgotten.
A brief service will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, KCMO, 64131, followed by graveside military burial and family gathering.
