Robert Edgar Myers of Kansas City, Missouri, 85, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2010. A life-time Kansas City resident, Bob served in the United States Army during World War II as a tank driver on the island of Saipan. Shortly thereafter, he met Helen E. Pool and the two started a life together in 1950. Two of his longest careers involved being an x-ray machine salesman for GE and an electrician for the Bendix Corporation (now Honeywell). He and Helen also ran Bob's Crafts, a small arts and crafts company, for over 40 years. Because of the war, Bob missed out on attending college, but he continued to stress its importance all of his life. He was very proud of his grandson, Matthew, who is currently attending college at the University of Missouri in the field of Electrical Engineering. He is survived by his wife, Helen, of 60 years; his son, Robert; and his grandson, Matthew. Visitation will be Friday, October 22, at 4:00 p.m., followed by his Eulogy at 5:00 p.m., at Mount Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131.
