

Robert L. Pitts was born August 8, 1949 in Kansas City, Missouri to the union of Eugene Pitts and Frances Stricklin-Pitts.
He was educated in the Kansas City school system. Robert graduated from Central High School in 1967. After finishing high school, Robert enlisted in the Navy July 1968 and was honorably discharged in October 1968. Thereafter Robert attended an Electrician Apprenticeship program with KC Plan which was a Minority Program for men and women of color in the 1970"s.
Robert left KC in April 1974 to work on the Trans-Alaska pipeline system. Which is an 800 mile 48-inch diameter pipeline that ran from Prudhoe Bay to Valley Alaska. He was a lifelong member with IBEW for over 50 years. In the 2000 Robert received several training and business certifications from numerous of Community Colleges in the City.
He leaves to cherish his memories, Harlan Pitts (Tanya) uncle of Kansas City, Missouri; Eric Cunningham (Elizabeth) nephew of Overland Park, Kansas; Kevin Crawford nephew of Florida; Candace Cunningham niece of New Jersey; Kaela Farrell and Aaliyah Mays nieces of Kansas City, Missouri.
A host of cousins and other relatives and friends.
Robert was laid back, very sweet and happy with easy going spirit. He had a funny sense of humor and loved spending time with family and friends. He loved going to restaurants, playing dominoes, listening to music and watching movies and sports. He definitely loved the Kansas City Chiefs.
A Visitation for Robert will be held Friday, January 31, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131. A Homegoing Celebration will follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will occur at 12:00 PM in Mount Moriah Cemetery South.
