A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in his honor on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, with visitation starting at 10:00 AM, with Mass to follow starting at 11:00 AM, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 900 Ne Shady Lane Dr., Kansas City, MO 64118. Burial will follow services in Resurrection Cemetery, 5001 Ne Cookingham Dr., Kansas City, MO 64156.
Bob was born in Conception, MO on October 4, 1938 to Alfred E. and Ruth K. (Wonderly) Sullivan. He graduated from Jefferson High School in Conception, MO. He served in the Army Medical Corps from November of 1961 to October of 1963 in Germany. After serving his country, Bob married Ruth Funderburk. They shared over 56 years together in Gladstone, Missouri until his passing.
Bob retired in 1992 after working for over 30 years for General Motors at their manufacturing facility on Fairfax Trafficway in Kansas City, KS. He also worked for Package Services in Riverside, MO for 10 years.
Bob’s greatest ambition in life was lawn care and his lawn tractors. Bob enjoyed providing these services with his son, Tim and grandson, Cameron and spending time with his family.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred E. and Ruth K. (Wonderly) Sullivan; son, Todd Sullivan; daughter, Denise Mansil; brothers, T.J., Cletus, and Jerry Sullivan; and sister, Kathleen Merrigan.
He leaves behind his wife, Ruth Sullivan; son, Timothy R. (Michelle) Sullivan; son-in-law, Mike Mansil; brothers, Donald and Vincent Sullivan; sisters, Helen Mattson and Marge Wolfer; grandchildren, Sydney and Jeff Termini, Lauren, Cameron, and Kyle Sullivan, and Ashlyn Mansil; and step-grandchildren, Alexa Wright, Matthew and Evan Mansil to cherish his memory.
