Robert W. Walters, 66, died Wednesday, September 8, 2010. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, September 12, at Carmen’s Café, 6307 Brookside Plaza, KCMO. Contributions in Bob’s memory may be made to Wayside Waifs.
Bob was born in Kansas City on July 30, 1944, to William Wesley Walters and Eleanor Beatrice (Lewis) Walters, who preceded him in death.
Bob was a graduate of Southwest High School and spent most of his life owning and operating nursing homes in the KC area, most recently Timberlake Care Center which he built in the mid 1980s. He was an avid horseman and particularly fond of quarter horses. He spent many happy hours attending horse shows in his motor coach and was a member of Saddle and Sirloin and the American Quarter Horse Association.
Survivors include his son, Reid Walters (Dave Butterworth) of Kansas City; his daughter, Christy Stewart (R.G. and grandson Matthew) of Raymore, MO; step-son Chris Romine (Stacey and grandchildren Nick, Natalie and Grace) of Fayetteville, AR; his sister Anna Landon (Al and nephews Todd, Chad and Joel) of Conrow, TX; sister-in-law Cathy Combs (David) of Olathe, KS, and his long-time personal friend, Lee D.
