Ronald K. Pittenger

Ron was born in Wichita, Kansas to Beulah (Dobbin) and Dean Pittenger on July 11, 1935. He attended Wichita East High School and The University of Kansas, where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. He obtained his accounting degree from Wichita State University. Ron was drafted into the Army in 1958 and served in Gelnhausen, Germany.

Ron married Judy Freeman on Auguste 19, 1962, and they were blessed with 4 children, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Ron began his accounting career at Elmer Fox Company, where he made partner before venturing out on his own to start an enduring CPA practice in Overland Park, Kansas. Ron was active in youth baseball with his sons and enjoyed several years of American Legion Baseball. He loved the game of golf and in retirement played most every day but Sunday, achieving 5 holes-in-one in his lifetime.

Ron was a faithful member of Christ Community Church of Leawood, Kansas. He loved his Creekmoor Men’s Bible Study. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and follower of Jesus Christ, modeling a life of faith to everyone in his life, and never, ever, refused to have a catch.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Billy Dean and Pete Pittenger.

Ron is survived by his wife, Judy; children, Robert Pittenger, Jon Pittenger (Cheryl), Tyler Pittenger (Chris) and Teresa Daleo (Mike); grandchildren, Maddi Agatone, Samantha Deuter (Charles), Jacob Pittenger, Macy Bryan (Max), Anna Kate Morton (Austin), Joel Pittenger, and Jessica Pittenger; and great grandchildren, Mae Ella Morton and Luca Bryan.

A funeral service for Ron will begin at 1:00pm on Friday, November 8, 2024 at Christ Community Church - Leawood Campus, 14200 Kenneth Road, Leawood, Kansas 66224 with an hour of visiting to follow the service. A private family ceremony will take place in Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kansas.
