‘Ron’ was born on April 5, 1962 to Jack & Louise Taylor (Land). He was the 4th and final child behind Phil Taylor, Lou Ellen Resz (Taylor), and Linda Pierce (Taylor).
Growing up, Ron “Opie Taylor” was known for being the class clown. The one to bring a smile to anyone’s face. After school you could find him at his Dads Skelly station burning rubber as he left, or working on his big wheeled, lifted truck. An avid hunter of any animal that could walk or fly, “gettin” was always a passion…legal or not.
Ron dedicated his life to Jesus Christ in 1982 and lived to share his favorite verse, John 3:16 with all he met. Into his adult life, Ron started his own company in 1993 known as Taylor Carpet Cleaning. Throughout his years of cleaning carpets, he created lifelong friendships and supported his family with pride. A husband to Janice Taylor (Hajny), and present father to his daughters, Christina Taylor & Beth Taylor. He always made it a priority to attend every choir performance and volleyball game; often clapping the loudest or trying his best to embarrass his girls. Ron’s love for bringing joy to those around him followed him throughout his life with his memorable “Billy Bob Bastardson” act, where you could find him with funny teeth and glasses, sharing unimaginable stories and often leaving people gut laughing at what he would say.
In 2013, Ron earned the title of “PawPaw” when his first granddaughter, Annabelle Lea Taylor was born, and 4 years later he solidified that title with his first grandson, Drake Edward Reed. His grandchildren were his biggest pride & joy, never missing a moment to talk about them or share a photo.
Ron will be greatly missed by his family & friends, although we rejoice in the knowledge is he is HOME with his Heavenly Father.
A visitation service will be held on Monday, October 4, 2021 from 1-2pm with service to follow at 2pm at Newcomer’s Floral Hills Funeral Home & Floral Hills Cemetery – 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd. Kansas City, MO 64133.
