Rosalie M. Poss, 87, of Leawood, Kansas, passed away March 14, 2026, at Kansas City Hospice House following a stroke. A Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 am, with visitation at 10:00 am, following the visitation the Nurses Honor Guard will perform honors at 10:50 am, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Church of the Nativity, 3800 W. 119th Street, Leawood, Kansas. Rosalie will be laid to rest in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Lenexa, Kansas, at 2:00 pm.
Rosalie was born on September 4, 1938, in Appleton, Wisconsin. She was a diploma nurse from St. Mary’s Hospital in Wausau, Wisconsin and earned her BSN from Marquette University.
She married Mark A. Poss in 1973, and together they had one son, Andrew. She loved to play and teach Mahjong, always had a current passport; ready to travel as soon as she was packed, and was a Red Hat lady. She volunteered for many years at Story Boutique, a nonprofit for Kansas City Hospice.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark, in 1991; and her son, Andrew, in 2025.
She is survived by her brothers, Steve Kortenhof and Dan Kortenhof, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
