

Rose Lombardino, age 98, of Kansas City MO, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015. She was born June 13th, 1916 to Antonia and Louis Lombardino. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother (Sam), and five sisters (Vincie, Josephine, Louise, Mary, and Frances).
After graduating from Kansas City Teacher’s College, she taught in parochial schools. Rose was secretary to the manager of American Can Company for 25 years. She served as president and director of the Antioch Business and Professional Women’s Club where she was honored as Woman of the Year.
Rose moved to Madison WI where she was secretary to the president of Reliable Insurance Company. She returned to Kansas City in 1987, and was a member of St. Thomas More Parish.
Rose bowled in various leagues, enjoyed playing cards with the St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary and St. Thomas More bridge groups, and volunteered at St. Joseph Health Center. She was an artist, and her paintings were part of several exhibits at Brookdale Wornall Place (formerly Grand Court) where she resided.
She is survived by four generations of loving nieces and nephews who have been very close to her.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 3rd at 10:00 a.m., at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Mt St. Mary’s Cemetery in Kansas City.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to St. Thomas More Parish, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
