

(Madelon) Rose Snider, 89, was born May 24, 1932 in Kansas City, MO. Rose passed away on March 2, 2022 in Kansas City, MO. Rose grew up in Kansas City, MO, the fourth of six children born to John and Edna (Coon) Ingino. Rose would graduate from Hogan High School and began her career as an executive assistant. She eventually took a job at Westinghouse where she would meet Harry Snider, her true love of 63 years. Rose and Harry married on April 19, 1958 at St. Louis Church in Kansas City, MO. Rose left her career to follow her true passion, that of a mother and homemaker. She would also be at Harry’s side throughout his career which took them on travels to all 50 states, the US territories, throughout the Americas, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. It was during this time that Rose would be instrumental in founding Water for People whose mission and vision is “A world where every person has access to reliable and safe water and sanitation services” and “exists to promote the development of high-quality drinking water and sanitation services, accessible to all, and sustained by strong communities, businesses, and governments”.
Rose was a devout Catholic, donating her time and expertise to the Church over many years. She and Harry were founding members of Saint Regis Parish. She lent her talents for many years as a volunteer secretary at St. Regis Parish School Office, coordinating the annual St. Vincent de Paul clothing drive, and spear-headed the resettlement of Vietnamese refugees to the parish.
After Harry’s retirement Rose and Harry became snowbirds spending winters in Englewood, Florida and summers at their lake house.
Rose is preceded in death by her husband, Harry Snider, infant son, James Snider, infant daughter, Mary Snider, parents, John and Edna (Coon) Ingino and brothers John Ingino and Robert Ingino. She is survived by her son, John M. (Kelly) Snider, Madison, WI, daughter, Anne M. (Kelly) Snider, Leawood, KS, and 6 grandchildren, Madison, Carly (Peter), Ellison, Mitchell, William, and Luke.
Visitation will be from 9:30 - 10:30 AM Friday, March 4th at Church of the Nativity Catholic Church, Leawood, KS followed by the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Water for People (give.waterforpeople.org) or Unbound (unbound.org)
