It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Rose A. Stearns, age 84, of Kansas City, Missouri. Rose passed peacefully in the morning hours of Friday, September 26, 2025, at the KC Hospice House.
Rose was a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and a dear friend to many. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dallas W. Stearns, and her son, Dennis W. Stearns. She is survived by her daughters, Cindy Woodson and her husband Woody, and Deedra Fithian and her husband Brad; her grandchildren, Bailey Slayton (Dylan), Kayla Ewald (Alec), Tyler Fithian, Jonathon Haws (Amanda), and Erin Grisafe (Anthony); and her great grandchildren, Payton Grisafe, Paxton Grisafe, Raelynn Haws, and Gwen Slayton.
Rose's life was defined by generosity, kindness, and a heart that was always open to others. She loved to cook and delighted in sharing her meals, her time and everything she had with family, friends and anyone in need. To know Rose was to know love, warmth, and unwavering support. Her presence leaves a lasting void in our hearts, but we take comfort in knowing heaven has gained a remarkable guardian angel.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the KC Hospice House in Rose's name, in gratitude for the care and compassion they provided.
