Ruth B. Bowman

Ruth Beatrice (Fletcher) Bowman, 93, Kansas City North, passed away December 5, 2016 at her home. Visitation will be from 6-7:30 PM Thursday, December 8th at the Kreeger Hall of Antioch Bible Baptist Church where a funeral will be at 7:30 PM. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Friday, December 9th at the Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to DeSota Youth Ministry.

Ruth was born August 23, 1923 in Jamestown, MO. Her family moved to Kansas City and Ruth graduated from North Kansas City High School. In 1952 she married Richard M. Bowman, Jr. Ruth worked for the North Kansas City School District as a secretary for Big Shoal and Crestview Elementary Schools. In addition to her husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Myrtle (Dearing) Fletcher.

Survivors include her sons, Richard (Julie) M. Bowman, III and Rodger (Ashley) Bowman; 5 grandchildren, Tiffany, Taylor, Brittan, Brooklyn, and Carson; and 2 great grandchildren, Kenley and Kayden; and a sister, Mary Miner.
