Ruth was born in Kansas City, Kansas and lived in this area her entire life. In her youth, Ruth enjoyed going to the dances at Municipal Auditorium and dancing to the music of Charlie Green. She played basketball and baseball. She had fond memories of going to Fairyland Park and snow sledding with her children. She enjoyed Christmas time and making tamales while her husband, Ralph, played the guitar for her family. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph. Ruth is survived by her sons, Frank Fernandez, Joe Fernandez, Anthony Fernandez and Ronald Fernandez; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 10:00 -11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Drexel Hall, 3301 Baltimore Ave., Kansas City, MO. Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Kansas City, Kansas.
