Ruth Ann Ladd

Ruth was born in Kansas City and grew up in the North End. As the matriarch of the family, she lovingly put her family first. Her daily life revolved around caring for her husband, and doting on her kids and grandkids. She was ever giving, the most selfless Sicilian “Nana.” She often spoke her mind, but her blunt honesty was always wrapped in wisdom and delivered with love.

Ruth is received in heaven by her father Angelo, mother Ruth, brother Nick Charmello, sister Mary Lou and brother-in-law Mike Fulco, as well as many other family members, and her best friend Christine Damico (Beskas).

She leaves behind her beloved husband Glenn Ladd Jr. (Butch), daughter Andrea Donigan (Brian), son Michael Ladd, granddaughter Jaden Donigan and grandson Anthony Ladd, aunt Mary Theresa and uncle Walter Accurso as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 18, 2014 from 12-1 pm at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11800 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Mo 64131. Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow the visitation at 1:00 pm. Interment will be at Mt. Moriah Cemetery South. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Kansas City Hospice House, in memory of Ruth Ann Ladd, 12000 Wornall Rd., Kansas City, Mo 64145.

Although Ruth’s soul left this world, she managed to hug her most loved from heaven with the appearance of answered prayers. Her traditional chocolate apples arrived to comfort her grandkids hours after she departed. Then a large contract was signed, as a favor to one she considered a son. While she will be forever missed, there is no doubt that this Sicilian “Nana” continues to dote on those she loves from heaven.
