Sarah Louise Brough

Sarah Louise Brough (Miller), 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. Sarah was born on September 3, 1936, to Louise and Heath Miller in Higginsville, Missouri where she was raised on the family farm. She attended Lafayette High School, graduating with the class of 1954 and later attended Columbia College for several years. Sarah went on to meet and marry her husband John Brough on July 17, 1961. They were married for 44 years prior to his passing. She was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and cherished attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. Everyone knew she was from Higginsville, MO as she continued to share memories of the farm up until the end.

Our family would like to extend a deep appreciation to Luminos Hospice, the staff of Benton House Blue Springs, and everyone who has provided care to her final months. As a family, we will be forever grateful for the support and kindness shown.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Heath and Louise Miller, her beloved husband, John Brough, and her brothers Sam and Wayne Miller. She is survived by her son, Todd (Melissa) Brough; daughter, Cindy (Scott) Hensley; daughter, Angie (Ron) Amos II; grandchildren, Bailey Sesler, Tyler Brough, Morgan Hensley, Alex Brough, Delaney Amos, Dallas Amos and great grandchild, Zaylee Hensley. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Visitation will be at 10:00 am on January 28th at St John LaLande, 805 NW RD Mide Rd, Blue Springs, MO. A Mass will follow at 11:30 am. Burial will take place at a later date in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Her laugh and smile will be greatly missed.
