Our beloved Shane Christofer Greiner, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away tragically on April 30, 2025, at the age of 27. He was born on July 14, 1997, in West Hills, California and was raised in Overland Park, Kansas, where we call home.
Shane had a happy childhood as the youngest of three kids, even though he soon grew to be the tallest and strongest of the family. Shane graduated in 2015 from Blue Valley West High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University, where he was in the brotherhood of Beta Theta Pi fraternity.
Shane loved what he did - building, leading, and creating. As a crew lead, his strong work-ethic, craftsmanship, and quiet confidence earned the respect of everyone around him. But it was who Shane was outside of work that truly defined him.
He had an infectious smile, a heart full of compassion, and a nurturing, protective nature that made people feel instantly at ease. Shane was the kind of person who showed up when it mattered most - sweet, affectionate, and deeply loyal to those he loved.
There was nothing like a hug from Shane.
He loved spending time with his family and friends - including going on vacations, playing yard games, being anywhere by water, and hosting tailgates and bonfires. He had a wide range of loves - from cooking, music, movies, and dancing - to sports and video games with his brother and friends.
It is impossible to capture all that was Shane Greiner.
His values were rooted in kindness, humility, and putting others first - qualities that touched the lives of everyone who knew him. Shane is survived by his parents John 'Zak' and Lia Greiner; sister Kassidy Tucker and spouse Remy, brother Kale Greiner and spouse Alyssa; Grandmother Christine Hirabayashi; Grandpa Nick Strauss; and many uncles, aunts, cousins, family and friends.
Especially dear to Shane was his loving partner, Angela Ryan. Their inseparable love for each other was a cornerstone in Shane’s life and she is loved as family.
