She was born in Hastings, Nebraska to Justice and Edna Stroh. Sonya had a love for animals, especially Kerry Blue Terriers. She did dog training and dog shows with her Kerry Blue Terriers and was very proud of her ribbons and awards. She loved to travel, and went to Germany and Texas several times. Sonya was always up for anything. She once went river rafting, and enjoyed going to the New Dinner Theater. She loved to spend time with her family and friends.
Preceding her in death were Sonya's parents, Justice and Edna Stroh, her brother Steven Stroh, and her aunt Greta Batt.
Sonya is survived by her niece, Stacey Stroh-Bledsoe and her husband Warren Bledsoe, her great-nephew James Stroh, and her great-niece Colleen Stroh. She is also survived by her nephew Steven Stroh Jr. and his wife Astrid, great-nephews Jeremy and Colby Stroh, and one great-niece Amber Stroh. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Lorie Stroh. Additionally, Sonya is survived by 4 great-great-nieces and two great-great-nephews.
