Spyros G. Lagis, 81, Kansas City, MO, passed away April 20, 2013. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 12001 Wornall Rd., Kansas City, MO 64145; burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Monday at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd. A Triasgion service will begin at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.
Spyros was born September 19, 1931 in Axlathokabos, Greece. He married Tresa Soularis and together they emigrated to the U.S. Spyros was very active in the Greek community and at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. He especially enjoyed working the annual Greek festival, assisting with the monthly VIP Luncheons at the church and the weekly fellowship on Sundays.
Mr. Lagis was preceded in death by his sister, Soula Mantis. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Tresa Lagis; son George Lagis and his wife Jana; grandchildren Ross & Kate; brothers, Angelo Lagis, Kostas Lagis and Alekos Lagis. Condolences may be made at www.mtmoriah-freeman.com.
