Steven Paul Lake

Steven Paul Lake, age 54 of Lee’s Summit, Missouri passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at his home. He was born April 14, 1968 in Kansas City, Missouri. Steve attended Blue Springs High School and graduated in 1986. Steve worked a variety of jobs as an adult. Most recently he worked at Red Racks in Lee’s Summit. Upon hearing of Steve’s passing, one employee shared that Steve “was too sweet for this world.” Steve loved music, and in his earlier years loved to play keyboard. Steve was close with his family, and served as an inspiration to everybody he knew. He was an animal lover and he will be missed by his dogs and cat. Steve and his brother Chris will always have a special bond.

Steve was preceded in death by his mother, DeeAnn Ida Lake, father Ronald William Lake, grandparents Billy Thomas and Ruth Aleene Lake. He is survived by his brothers Christopher (Chrissy) Lake of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Chad Isaac (Sunny) Lake of Washington D.C., and Shawn Klein of Independence, Missouri. Also by his Aunts, Lynn Rooney, Sarah Ricketts, DiAnn Angelino (DeeAnn Lake’s twin), and Lisa Jones; cousins Damon Rooney, Shanna Rooney, and Tyler Adams. Nephews and niece Tristan Lake, Ross Buehre, Asa Klein, Liam Lake, Christian Lake, and Shannon Buehre.

Services will be held at Newcomer’s Floral Hills Funeral home, 7000 Blue Ridge Boulevard Kansas City, Missouri 64133. A Celebration of Life will take place on Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 5 - 6 p.m. and a service from 6 - 7 p.m.
