Suzie, as she was affectionately called, is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Dick Tye; her two daughters: Cheryl Barnard (son-in-law Derek) and Karen Nelson (son-in-law Mike), grandchildren: Taylor Campbell (husband Tom), Audrey Hughes, Tye Hughes, Bailey Nelson and Brooke Nelson, great-grandson: George Campbell.
Her grandchildren brought such laughter and joy to her life, rarely missing any of their soccer, volleyball games, cheer & gymnastic tournaments, football/baseball games, or dance recitals. Mimi didn’t share her emotions as much through words, but with her actions and cheering on the sidelines, everyone knew they were loved!
Hosting holiday gatherings throughout the years was one of Suzie’s greatest joys. She loved baking dozens of sugar cookies and hanging them on the tree, wrapping gifts with butcher block paper and homemade cards, hanging gorgeous, handmade stockings from the mantel and adorning their family home on 100th Terrace with bright green lights. She was the brains and organization behind every holiday while Dick was her cheerful helper in all aspects of their life together. With the holiday season approaching, this amazing wife, mother and grandmother will be sorely missed.
Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
