Theodore Paulsen

Theodore L. (Ted) Paulsen, 84, our beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on January 14, 2011 at the Kansas City Hospice House. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Mount Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Memorial Service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64145. Ted was born in Johnson County, Kansas and grew up in the Hickman Hills area. He served two years in the U.S. Navy during World War II, in the South Pacific. After returning home from the service, he married Laura Margaret Noble in Marshall, Missouri on August 17, 1946. Ted retired from Folgers/Procter & Gamble in 1976 after 25 years of service as a Personnel Public Relations Manager. He then went to work for Seaboard Corp. and retired in 1988, after 12 years as a Public Relations Personnel Manager. He was active in civic and social organizations during his working years. After retirement he moved to Stockton, Missouri for 19 years. Ted was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish, hunt and golf. He then returned to Overland Park, Kansas three and a half years ago. Ted was preceded in death by his parents James M. Paulsen and Pauline Lopp and two brothers James Paulsen IV and Eugene Paulsen. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Laura Margaret “Marg’ Paulsen of the home, daughter Kimberlee Williams and husband Greg of Leawood, Kansas, granddaughters Nicole VanHoecke and Ashlee Franklin, grandson Chase Williams, great granddaughters Catelyn Elizabeth VanHoecke and Mila Margaret VanHoecke. Ted is also survived by two sisters-in-law Virginia Nightwine of Marshall, Missouri and Katherine Paulsen of Leawood, Kansas, niece Marcia Stanley of Marshall, Missouri and nephew Patrick Paulsen of Leawood, Kansas.
