Tom was born May 28, 1946 in Arkansas City, KS. The oldest of five children, the family moved to Mission, Kansas before his senior year of High School. He graduated from Shawnee Mission North. Tom went on to attend UMKC where he met the love of his life Joyce Larson in choir class. They married, settled down and lived in Mission and then Prairie Village, Kansas. They were married for 58 years and had ten children. Tom worked hard to support his family with a decades long career working for Southwestern Bell then AT&T until his retirement. His greatest joy was the love of his wife, their ten children, and 26 grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered for driving the family on many camping trips around the country, grilling countless burgers on the grill, videotaping the football games of his seven sons, caring for his many plants and flowers around the house, hosting many backyard overnights for the grandchildren, his amazing popcorn, and his big bear hugs. He enjoyed taking walks, visiting Powell Gardens, Branson Mo. and Silver Dollar City. He loved to make people laugh. He sang in the church choir and when given the opportunity, he would always entertain with a song. His Christian faith was of the utmost importance to him.
