Thomas J. Black, 82, of Kansas City, MO died Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at the Cameron Regional Medical Center. Mass of Catholic Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2013 at St. Patrick's Church, 1357 NE 42nd Terrace, Kansas City, MO. Burial will be in Resurrection North Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the McGilley Antioch Chapel, where the rosary will be prayed at 7:00p.m.
Thomas was a banker at North Hills and Central Bank of Kansas City for 30 years before retirement. Thomas was an Army veteran of Korean War. In addition to his parents Frank and Alice (Whelan) Black, Thomas was preceded in death by his wife Joanne in 2002, his son Mark in 1984 and 13 brothers and sisters.
His survivors include his daughter, Mary Karen Black of Kansas City, MO; Jeanne Black of Redondo Beach, CA; stepsons Patrick, Steve and Sam Black of Kansas City and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Employee Fund at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron Missouri 1111 Euclid, Cameron Missouri 64429.
