He was born on August 18, 1951, in Kansas City, Missouri, Tom grew up with a playful spirit that defined much of his life from playing baseball as a child to the lifelong "sibling rivalry" of playfully throwing walnuts at his sister, Sharon. A proud veteran, Tom served his country in the United States Air Force from 1971 to 1974 before beginning a long and dedicated career with the United States Post Office, from which he eventually retired. Known by those close to him as a "kind and patient soul with a good heart," Tom found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid bowler and fisherman, and he never lost his sense of fun.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Edmon and Clara Gould, and his brother, John.
He is survived by his brother, Charles Gould; his sister, Sharon Reber; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss his gentle presence. He also leaves behind his longtime friend, Kumari Kipper.
