

Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 pm on March 9th at McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line Road, Kansas City, MO 64145.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am March 10th, 2020 at Church of the Nativity with Fr. Michael Hawken, officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge Boulevard, Kansas City, MO. Arrangements are by McGilley State Line Chapel.
Thomas Joseph Hart was born in Kansas City, MO to Leo Edgar Hart and Anna Marie Allin on September 8th, 1955. He went to school at Bishop Hogan High School. He married Mary Anita Scaglia on June 12, 1977 at St. Elizabeth’s in Kansas City, MO. He worked as a Body Shop Technician for Bill Sight Chevrolet. He was a Body Shop Manager for the majority of his career at Charlie Fisher Buick, Jay Wolfe Chevrolet, and Van Chevrolet. He ended his career as an Automotive Claims Specialist with American Family Insurance.
Tom had a love of cars, motorcycles, boats, and his orange Kabota tractor. In the early years, he loved spending time with his family and children at the Lake of the Ozarks, the American Royal Rodeo, riding horses and grilling. Later, he was a devoted grandfather to 5 grandsons and 1 granddaughter.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents Leo and Anne Hart, and sister Johanna Hart.
Tom is survived by his wife Mary Anita Hart, daughter Josephine Marie and John DeFrancis of Hamilton, NJ, daughter Beth Hart Pearce and Jason Pearce of Lenexa, KS, brother Leo Hart and Yvonne Hart, sister Anne Kelly and Tom Kelly, sister Cindy Samlow and Ron Samlow, brother John Hart and Janet Hart, grandchildren Dominick DeFrancis, Gianna DeFrancis, Vincent DeFrancis, Thomas Pearce, Michael Pearce, and David Pearce.
The family of Tom wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the staff at University of Kansas Medical Center especially Dr. Patrick Moriarty and Dr. Chris Geha.
