With peaceful hearts, we announce that Thomas Michael Jones, 69, of Greenwood, MO has entered into eternal rest on May 8th, 2025, embraced by the love of his Creator and the prayers of all who loved him.
Born in Akron, Ohio to Bob and Wilma Jones, Tom spent a life deeply rooted in faith, love, and service of others. He lived with grace and compassion, always putting others before himself.
Tom lived a life filled with laughter and a deep appreciation for the simple joys. He found happiness in helping family and friends with projects like fixing cars, designing a tool or part to make life easier and traveling with the love of his life for 46 years, Cindy and his dog Bandit. He loved animals, RC airplanes and anything mechanical, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He was a man of few words, but his impact was great to those who knew him.
Tom worked as a mechanical engineer for Honeywell for 44 years before he retired in 2022 where he was known for his “unique depth of knowledge”. Beyond his professional life, he was a dedicated husband to his high school sweetheart Cindy (Shepard). He was a devoted father to their children Sarah Darby (Marshall); Ryan Jones (Angie); Rachel Sprinkle (Jay) and Stefany Jones. He cherished his role as a grandpa/Boppa the most, always making time for his grandkids Jolee Henderson (Jake), Tristan Harvey, Violet Darby, Mason Harvey, Kamryn Burnside, Graceanne Darby and great grandson Jaxon Henderson. He was reunited in heaven with his parents Bob and Wilma Jones, brother Bob Jones, brothers’ in law Brian Hill and David Shepard.
A visitation will be held at Eagle Creek Church in Lee’s Summit on Thursday May 15, 2025 at 2 o’clock in the afternoon with a memorial service to follow at 3 o’clock. We invite all who knew and loved Tom to join us in prayer, remembrance, and thanksgiving for a life well-lived and soul well-loved.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23:6
