Timmy Allen Arbuthnot, 52, of Lenexa, Kansas, passed away on August 11, 2025. Though his time with us feels far too short, Timmy’s life was filled with joy, friendships, and a spirit that touched everyone who knew him.
Tim was born on November 7, 1972, in Great Lakes, Illinois, while his father was serving in the U.S. Army. Shortly after, his parents and his awesome sister moved to the Kansas City area, eventually settling in Lenexa. There, Tim grew up surrounded by family, fun, and amazing friendships that would last a lifetime. He attended Shawnee Mission West High School, Class of 1991, proud to call Lenexa home and Kansas City his city.
Over the years, Tim held many jobs before finding his place as a Construction Warehouse Associate with Evaptech, a company that provides Researched Power Solutions for businesses in need of power generation and HVAC cooling towers. He valued his work and especially the friendships he built there.
Tim’s true legacy, however, was the joy he brought to others. Known for his humor, generosity, and his one-of-a-kind dance moves, he had a special gift for making people laugh and entertained. A devoted Kansas City sports fan, he cheered passionately for the Chiefs, Royals, Sporting KC, and KC Current.
He is survived by his sister, Tami Arbuthnot (Mark Kahler) of Overland Park. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Bert and Debra Arbuthnot.
A memorial service to celebrate Tim’s life will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., with the service at 2:00 p.m. Tim will be laid to rest beside his parents immediately following in Mount Moriah Cemetery.
A couple of Tim’s favorite sayings were, “You’re peeling me down” and “You’re hurtin my heart.” Well Tim, losing you is hurting our hearts. Love you forever.
