Trinnith "T.D." Dwight Myers

T.D. Myers, 85, of Belton, MO, passed away February 8, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 12, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd., Kansas City, MO Graveside service will be held at McCullough Cemetery in Triplett, MO.

T.D. was born in Dean Lake, MO on September 4, 1930, son of Wm. Benjamin and Lillian (West) Myers. After the untimely death of his father in 1942, his mother married J.P. Hampton in 1948. T.D. proudly served his country in the United States Navy, enlisting July 22, 1948. He served in Panama as a shipping clerk until his Honorable Discharge in 1952. T.D. married Geraldine J. Meade in 1953. This joyful union produced a large and loving family.

He leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Gerry Myers; son Rodney Myers (Debbie); daughters Patty Daniels (Cliff) and Kim Marks (Richard); grandchildren Ryan Myers (Alison), Travis Myers (Amy), Amy Garrelts (Chris), Carrie Smart (Peter), Katie Kueny (Andy) and Garret Marks; eleven great-grandchildren Maxwell Garrelts, Claire Garrelts, Elizabeth Garrelts, Parker Myers, Reese Myers, Merrick Myers, Anna Smart, Finn Smark, Isabella Kueny, Addison Kueny and Burkett Myers, extended family and friends.

T.D. had a distinguished business career enjoying long term employment at Bendix and Unitog. He loved working in his garden and spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks. After retirement he and Gerry wintered in Florida where they made many dear friends. He was happiest when the weather was hot and he was near the water. We will all miss him dearly.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Kansas City Hospice, who provided care and comfort in his final days.
