Hello everyone, I just want to thank the Pecina and Melgoza family for taking me in at this time of loss. You all have been a great part in what this man was able to accomplish and the man he was. He saved me from myself and God used him to get to me. For that week after I had went to a Christian Camp and gave my life to Jesus. He introduced to me the true meaning of family and made me on of his, I can't ever thank him enough for that. 

He told me to be myself, because having 100 friends while being someone you are not will make you miserable. Whereas, having just one and being yourself will be all worth it. I have been myself and I have had comments of appreciation, and comments that people see God's love though me. I told Uzi when I was there that I was going to honor his life, but little did I know that I have already been doing so. But, it doesn't end here, there is still a bigger battle to fight, especially now with the next president. Now more than ever Uzi's legacy has to be sent out, for love, unity, and family is what will save this world.

I will never forget that summer that changed my life, and were I met Uzi. He was always ready to make a change and his charisma made the LDZ program something I will treasure for the rest of my life. His smile and sense of humor brightened us up, especially in the moments in which we were exhausted. I feel regret for not having taken the time to communicate with him after the program, because I feel I could have said to him how important he was. It saddens me that this tragic event has happened, but for me I will treasure his memories and that bond we had in the Orange Dot group. I can definitely say without a doubt,  Bros for life.

Uzi was the most confident, upbeat young man I have had the pleasure of working with. His electric smile was infectious, and sharp style was perfect. I am very sorry for your loss. Much love and many prayers for your family.

I had the privilege of watching Uzielito grow from a 6 year old little boy into a young man. I also had the privilege of being a part of Uzielito's growth as a scout and with soccer. Desde que me enteré de la noticia no he podido dejar de pensar en otra cosa. Tuve la dicha de ser maestra de Uziel por dos años seguidos. Como maestra lo vi transformarse en un excelente muchacho y ser humano. Incluso, seguí sus pasos después de regresarme a El Paso. Siempre lo tuve en mente y me quedaré con el recuerdo de la última plática que tuve con él este marzo que visité Lincoln. Estaba muy entusiasmado por su graduación y por lo que le seguía. él fue de las personas que más me hizo sentir en casa en Kansas City, siempre me decía donde comer y me invitó a su trabajo para que probará las crepas francesas. Sé que no hay palabras en este momento pero desde el fondo de mi corazón quiero darles mi más sentido pésame. Siempre tendré a Uziel presente en mi mente y corazón.

Desde que me enteré de la noticia no hago más que pensar en otra cosa. Tuve el privilegio de darle clases a su hijo por dos años seguidos, de verlo transformarse en ese año y seguir sus pasos aún después de regresarme a El Paso. El fue unas de las personas que me motivo más como maestra y que me hizo sentir bienvenida en Kansas City. Incluso me invito a comer crepas francesas en el restaurante donde trabajaba. Fue uno de los estudiantes que más me pudo dejar cuando decidí regresar con mi familia a El Paso. Me quedaré con el recuerdo de nuestra plática este pasado marzo cuando fui a visitar a mis estudiantes en Lincoln y me decía lo emocionado que estaba por graduarse. Uziel siempre estará en mi corazón y mente. Sé que no hay palabras correctas que decir en este momento pero desde el fondo de mi corazón quiero ofrecerles mi más sentido pésame.
